Pro:kons is operating as a dynamic website based on the open source server application ZOPE:- Pro:kons is operating as a dynamic website based on the open source server application ZOPE:
- The ZOPE architecture is object orientated, including the transaction based database
- External data can be integrated via SQL-Adapter
- Libraries (e.g. XML) can be accessed via phyton scrips.
- Pro:kons can also embed C-code.
- For extended database functionality pro:kons is using the well known relational open source database Postress.
- Implementation via Linux preferable Debian Linux.
- Pro:cons runs on standard Intel Based Hardware.
- Depending on individual security specifications, hard or software based backup or security settings can be added to the running system.
Client Sided
The frontend is programmed in HTML 4.1 alternatively XHMTL 1.0+ and CSS2.
All java scripts used are implemented to ECMA script specifications.
The website works on all common browser meeting HTML 4.0 and CSS2 standards.
The whole application is developed to W3C standards (http://w3.org).
WAI-Standard confirm programming if requested (http://w3.org/WAI/).
The website was tested in detail on the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer / MS Windows, Version 5.5 onward
- Netscape Version 7 (=Mozilla 1+) onward
- Safari (Mac OS X) Version 1 onward
- Opera Version 7 onward
